Is ColTex Coffee just another coffee broker?
No, we have the relationship with the plantation owners and a local presence in Medellin Colombia, Georgetown Texas, and the Rio Grande Valley Texas.
What are the benefits of buying from ColTex?
We work to support the plantation owners and typically pay a much higher rate for the products we roast and sell. By doing this we believe that raising the level of economic standing for the farmers and their workers is the right thing to do!
How does a customer know the grading process is not just made up?
ColTex Coffee uses the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) grading standard. This standard is a globally recognized entity. Feel confident that the coffee is ranked according to the SCA standard and in our opinion very conservative!
Does ColTex Coffee have a corporate responsibility policy?
We at ColTex are committed to support the farmer and their workers. As we grow our support capabilities expand by working with the farmer on climate change issues that impact the harvest including sustainability. Example: some of our coffees are produced by eliminating 47 liters of water per kilo of beans in the washing process. That's a good start!
Is the coffee we sell fresh?
On average it takes 3 weeks from the plantation, to our roasting facility, and finally via FedEx to any address in the USA.
How do we know the coffee's are authentic?
We list the plantation name, altitude, and process type on all our coffees. This is the benefit of relationship, we always have variety. You can't get that in big box stores, huge cans of coffee or even in most coffee house's that sell burned coffee and a variety of flavored milks. Challenge yourself!
What about international shipping costs?
We are in the process of determining value points for customers in Japan, UAE, Korea, and the EU. The goal is to discount (we pay a portion) of the FedEx shipping costs for orders above a 'soon to be determined' price.
Does ColTex Coffee have tours of any plantations?
We have entered into an agreement with the growers at Las Nubes (clouds) situated at 1950 meters, (6397 feet) in Pereira, Risaralda, Colombia. The airport ID is PEI. Also in the nearby city of Armenia, is El Eden airport (AXM).
Does ColTex Coffee offer K-Cups or Nespresso pods?
We now offer K-Cups and also Nespresso small pods (not to be confused with proprietary Nespresso Vertuo Line. The product will be in the store Jan 1 is the estimated date. The quantity of K-Cups offering is a single or variety of 72 individual cups.
Does ColTex Coffee do bulk shipments?
Yes! Absolutely. We offer 20 and 40 foot containers, and less than container shipments, with very competitive rates.
What are ColTex Coffee's standard shipping size?
Our standard model is 20, 40, 50, and 100 Kg orders that are easily shipped FedEx. We consistently ship from Medellin Colombia to Washington state in the USA, in 3-5 days including customs. Super fast!
